Govt suspends 2 IAS, three PCS officers

THE STATE Government has ordered suspension of two IAS and three PCS officers for their alleged role in serious irregularities and laxity committed at the Gorakhpur Development Authority.

THE STATE Government has ordered suspension of two IAS and three PCS officers for their alleged role in serious irregularities and laxity committed at the Gorakhpur Development Authority.

This comes close on the heels of action ordered against officials of 14 officers and employees including two PCS officers, Mishri Lal Paswan and Shripal Verma, who have been placed under suspension for allegedly indulging in making fraudulent allotments causing an estimated loss of Rs 2 crore to the Lucknow Development Authority.

Those placed under suspension now include vice-chairman Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA) for committing irregularities in land filling construction and other works of the Gautam Vihar Housing scheme and Siddharth Enclave Housing scheme etc. The State Government had earlier placed under suspension another IAS officer Ram Sajivan.

An official press release issued here today said the orders to place the officers under suspension were issued on the directives of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav. As per information a 1981-batch PCS officer Pradeep Kumar Srivastava (posted as Joint Secretary Finance) had committed serious irregularities in Siddharth Nagar enclave housing scheme, Buddha Vihar Housing scheme and Gautam Vihar Housing scheme. He had been found prima facie guilty of committing the irregularities.

Similarly, a 1979-batch PCS officer Mant Lal (posted as Additional Commissioner Gorakhpur) had committed serious irregularities in Gautam Vihar scheme as Secretary of Gorakhpur Development Authority. A 1972 batch PCS officer (posted as MD UP Small Industries Corporation Limited) has been found prima facie guilty of committing irregularities in the Gautam Vihar Housing scheme of GDA. He has been attached to Board of Revenue during the period of his suspension.
