Batra, president of the Punjabi Jagriti Manch said the IAS association should take cognizance of Khemka's issue and intervene to provide respite to the whistleblower officer, who is being 'harassed' in the name of investigations.

He said in view of the coming 2014 elections, a rally would be taken out in Rohtak on December 15.

Batra was home minister from 1991 to 1996 during the regime of former chief minister late Bhajan Lal.

He later switched sides to the Haryana Janhit Congress in 2005, but again joined the Congress after Bhupinder Singh Hooda became the chief minister.
