Entering the fray from the second constituency, former Prime Minister and JD (S) President HD Devegowda on April 7 filed his nomination papers for Lok Sabha polls from Hassan in his home district.

Gowda has already filed his papers from Kanakapura, seeking re-election from the constituency where he is facing TV journalist Tejaswini Ramesh (Congress) and BJP's Ramachandra Gowda.
Along with Gowda, BR Gurudev also filed his papers as JD(S) candidate in Hassan, where state minister HC Srikantiah is the Congress candidate.
Hassan will go to polls in the second phase on April 26 and Kanakapura in the first phase on April 20.
