ACTIVISTS OF Gorakhnath Purvanchal Vikas Manch staged a demonstration in protest against the lackadaisical attitude of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) officials at the general manager’s office and handed him a three-point memorandum seeking immediate redressal of their grievances.
Expressing his views on the occasion, coordinator of the Manch, Vishnu Shanker Srivastav, said the department had laid underground cable work in various parts of the city which had disturbed telephone lines in various areas.
He further said that delayed distribution of bills had also added to the problems of the consumers.
Manch leader Rishi Mohan Verma, Ajay Jaiswal and Amarnath Yadav said the telephone exchange at Gorakhnath, Beniganj, Rapti Nagar, and Gita Vatika, Shahpur were not working properly and the telephone bills were also not being distributed timely.
They also added that rainwater had entered the cable line and as a result the phones were getting humming sound. In many cases complaints of cross connection had also been received.
They alleged that despite repeated reminders officials were not taking any initiative in redressal of their grievances.
