The incident occurred near Mossoori area on Friday night, a day after a toll collection staff at Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway was shot dead by some unidentified persons.

According to police, the guards were thrashed by a group of eight youths who were travelling towards Delhi in a gypsy behind a potato-laden Tata Canter.

The brawl broke out after the guards stopped the goods vehicle as its two occupants refused to pay the toll fee claiming that they were locals.

“A physical fight broke out between the two parties and around 8 youths in a gypsy, following the Tata Canter, badly thrashed the guards and fled the spot,” Masoori police station incharge Manish Saxena told Hindustan Times.

He said both the parties later reached the police station and agreed for a compromise.

He denied media reports about firing and robbery at the toll plaza.

“The compromise of the two parties was registered in our record,” Saxena, said, adding that no official complaint was lodged by any of the involved parties.
