According to the police, the incident took place on Wednesday night in an unauthorised guest house, where the victim, Neha, 25, (name changed) was working as a caretaker.

The police have registered a case of rape against the accused in DLF phase 3 police station.

The accused, Manish Kumar, 35, hails from Bihar and was posted at Rajokri Air Force station in Delhi.

Ravi Ranjan, brother of the accused, owns the PG accommodation for girls. The police said Kumar, a corporal, had applied for voluntary retirement and was waiting for his relieving order.

“Neha, a resident of Kerala, had joined the guest house on July 31. Her father is a retired nayak in the Indian Army. The accused forcibly entered the victim's room on the fifth floor, taking advantage of the fact that she was alone, and raped her. The victim is in trauma. However, she related the incident to her mother who informed the police,” said a senior police official.

Ravi is doing MBA. The duo had taken the interview of the victim on July 31 and hired her as a caretaker for the guest house for girls.

The police said Ravi has no role in the incident.

“The accused will be produced in the district court on Friday. We have recorded the victim’s statement. We will also inform the Air Force about the incident,” said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP, East Gurgaon.
