Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Uttam Harji Patel has been suspended for alleged anti-party activities during the recent Lok Sabha polls, GPCC spokesman Hasmukh Patel said here on Friday.

The suspension would be effective for six years, he said.
Patel, who was closely associated with the Kisan movement, had allegedly campaigned against Kisan Patel, the Congress candidate from Valsad parliamentary constituency.
