All the poultry farms are being cleaned and disinfected thoroughly now that culling has been completed in Gujarat, the sources said.

More than 73,000 fowl were culled since the operation got a go-ahead from authorities two days ago, they said.

Meanwhile, officials are also currently preventing the movement of chickens within the state and also its entry into Gujarat from any state, the sources said.

The government has also begun disbursing compensation cheques to the poultry farm owners and have so far given Rs 30 lakhs as compensation.

Municipal corporations have also issued notices to several chicken traders, restaurants and eating joints to maintain hygienic conditions, the sources said.
