The new court is likely to reduce the number of pending cases in the district. It will house 10 rooms, while the district court has 17 rooms.

SS Oberoi, a legal expert who practises in the district court, said, "We normally get dates at a gap of six to nine months."

Though after the high court ordered to dispose of old cases quickly, the pendency rate has reduced, said Ram Nand Yadav, a lawyer in Gurgaon.

"All five-year-old cases are tagged green, while the seven-year-old ones bear a red tag. These tagged files are normally given dates at shorter intervals, so that they can reach the verdict soon," he said.
