Gurgaon’s liquor vends have become a nuisance for corporates.
A group of about 45 national and multinational companies have complained about the menace of public drinking, eve-teasing and traffic snarls at liquor vend sites near their office complexes off the Expressway.
In a representation given to Haryana Urban Development Authority, companies like Reebok, Hindustan Uniliver, Skoda, Tata Motors, Knight Frank, Lintas, Marriot Hotels, Rayban, Unitech and others at Signature Tower and Hindustan Uniliver said the liquor vend adjacent to their buildings had spoilt the work atmosphere.
“What rankles executives working at these complexes is that people buy liquor, drink it in their cars, play loud music, pass lewd remarks, tease women and use the adjacent area as a public toilet,” states a letter signed by representatives of 45 companies.
In DLF City, women, children and senior citizens will march to the liquor vends this Sunday and have threatened to down their shutters.
