A Mumbai court, Monday, deferred hearing the bail plea of film director Kaizad Gustad and his assistant Ashish Udeshi who were arrested over the death of Nadia Khan during the shooting of Mumbai Central.

Mumbai Central director Gustad and Udeshi were arrested last week for allegedly providing police with false information regarding the death of the London-based assistant director on May 25.

They have stated in their bail application that they "have been falsely implicated in the case and no incriminating documents have been recovered from us by police". A speeding train had hit Khan, 27, when the crew was filming at the Mahalaxmi railway station.

Udeshi allegedly registered a false complaint with Tardeo police that the assistant director met with a road accident off E. Moses Road in south-central Mumbai.

Apart from Gustad and Udeshi, police have till now arrested four people. Among them are a Government Railway Police (GRP) woman-constable Darshana Vaiti, who is currently on bail, and Hadley D'Mello, Udeshi's assistant, who was arrested Sunday from his Mira Road residence.

Meanwhile, the Mahalaxmi railway station superintendent C.G. Ashokan, who was on duty when the accident took place, had applied for an anticipatory bail. In a statement to the Mumbai Central railway police Saturday, Ashokan said, "I was unaware of Nadia Khan's accident near Mahalaxmi railway station on May 25."
