This followed after the National Conference chief met the Governor in the evening and formally staked claim to form the government.

JKPCC chief Saif-ud-Din Soz, accompanied by Choudhry Mohammed Aslam, Leader of the Congress Legislature Party, also called on the Governor and pledged support of their party MLAs to Omar, a Raj Bhavan spokesman said.

Omar will take oath as Chief Minister on Monday at the head of a National Conference-Congress coalition government amid indications that it will be a six-member ministry sans a Deputy Chief Minister from the Congress.
