A French television commentator claims to have learned from a 'reliable source' that 2008 world champion Lewis Hamilton is trying to leave McLaren at the end of this season when his contract with the team expires.
Jean-Louis Moncet, a commentator for the French channel TF1, wrote in his personal blog that he had learned of Hamilton's desire to leave McLaren, if need be, even before the end of the season if his current situation does not improve.
Hamilton has yet to win a race this year despite scoring three consecutive podiums and and two pole positions and has lost his early lead in the drivers' championship to Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso.
Moncet also wrote that McLaren's interest in Force India driver Paul Di Resta is another reason for Hamilton's change in attitude towards the team that supported him during his formative years as a racing driver and that he claimed he never wanted to leave in 2008.
Speculation about Hamilton's long-term future went into overdrive at last year's Canadian Grand Prix when he was spotted coming out of Red Bull Racing's team building during the race weekend. Hamilton has since been linked to a move to the Austrian team with the rumour mills tipping him to replace Mark Webber, who in turn has been linked to a move to Ferrari.
