Defending world champion Lewis Hamilton topped the times again in the second free practice session ahead of Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix.

The McLaren Mercedes driver, was quick early in the session and fast again in the closing minutes when he clocked one minute and 47.201 seconds, little more than a tenth of a second slower than his pole time last year.

But, while Hamilton shone again to endorse McLaren's resurgence in the second half of this season, the main championship contenders suffered mixed fortunes on a day of capricious weather conditions.
Championship leader Briton Jenson Button of Brawn GP was down in 17th place and his teammate Brazilian veteran Rubens Barrichello was 19th as both drivers suffered.
