If BSP MLA Purushottam Naresh Dwivedi is not hanged, she will follow in the footsteps of slain dacoit queen Phoolan Devi, said the rape victim (17) of Banda about her alleged rapist.
On Sunday, after stepping out of the Banda district jail, where she stayed for more than a month because of theft charges brought against her by the legislator presumably to conceal his crime, she said: “My life has been spoiled by the MLA and the administration adopted all tricks to protect him.”
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati ordered her release on Saturday and the Allahabad high court immediately gave directions for it.
Dwivedi has been arrested and is in jail.
She was taken to her native village, Shahbazpur, 60 km south of Banda, with police security.
“On December 10 the MLA raped me in his house. Later I was raped by the associates of the MLA on his direction. On December 11 the MLA raped me again and when I begged for mercy he told me that he would get me married with his servant Chedi. I rejected his offer and the angry MLA told his associates to continue with rape,” she said.
“I started bleeding profusely and informed my father from the mobile of Dwivedi’s daughter-in-law. When the MLA and his family members came to know that I had talked with my father, they beat me. And when the MLA and his associates tried to rape me again on December 12, I managed to flee from the house and hid under a bridge the whole night,” she said.
