THE AUTOPSY report stated that hanging was the cause of the death of the IIT-K student Shailesh Sharma. The report also stated that there were six injury marks on his right forearm.

The report made it clear that Shailesh died due to hanging and there was no assessment of profuse bleeding from the injuries in his forearm as the nerve passing through that part remained intact.
Sailesh, resident of Varanasi, committed suicide in his hostel room in the afternoon of Wednesday. According to Shailesh’s batchmates, he failed in the advanced Thermodynamics for the third time in a row and shared his distress with his classmates.
According to reports from IIT-K, Shailesh, before committing suicide, had had lunch with his classmates and after that he was confined to his hostel room.
Later, he was found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room. In the aftermath of Shailesh’s death, several students gheraoed the dean of students’ affair.
