Farah, the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) student who was molested on the campus and later harassed for registering a complaint, apprehends threat to life. On Thursday, this MA journalism final year student walked into the JNU demanding support from women's organisations and student bodies on sexual harassment.

On February 2, Farah was assaulted by two university students in the campus. Farah was targeted because she preferred wearing jeans and T-shirt to the university.

"I was warned repeatedly to change my attire. When I complained about the molestation, to the vice- chancellor and requested that it be taken up by the women's cell, I discovered it did not exist.

Worse, my complaint was treated lightly." Farah alleged that she asked the authorities why they had not complied with Supreme Court guidelines on contacting a women's cell against sexual harassment, and was asked to stay away from the issue.

"Office-bearers of the AMUSU said that if I did raise the issue further, then I would suffer the same fate as Bhanwari Devi," alleged Farah.
