The 24-year-old is rightly heralded as one of the great bowling talents in the world today.

The "Turbanator", as he is affectionately known as, produced a stunning performance against the touring Australians in the 2000/01 series when he took 32 wickets during the three Test series.

Harbhajan also grabbed a hat-trick in the second Test at Kolkata, when he took the wickets of Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne in successive balls.

Purists might mutter about his lack of loop and flight, but this was one of the greatest performances ever by a finger spinner — at a time when orthodox offspin was supposed to be history.

Harbhajan has a strike rate of just over 40, which he will be always looking to improve, but with an economy rate of around 4, the 24-year-old will continue be an integral part of the India team. Bhajji has proven that injury and long layoff need not necessarily affect your performance.
