Piet Rinke confined himself to club cricket after his national contract was not renewed. Although by no means an opening batsman in first-class cricket, he made a reputation for himself with his powerful hitting.
Returning to fulltime cricket, he scored well against Kenya and then in warm-up matches in the Caribbean.
Rinke has shown a good attitude and is working hard to overcome his technical deficiencies. Though not fully fit, he is making efforts to improve his fielding.
