The Indian wrestler recorded his name in sports history annals of the country by becoming the first ever sportsperson to win back-to-back individual Olympic medals, having won a bronze at the 2008 Beijing Games.

Earlier, shooter Gagan Narang and ace shuttler Saina Nehwal, brought laurels to the state by winning a bronze each. A cash award of Rs 1 crore was announced for them as well by the state government.
