The council, that deals with various sectors, including electronics, industries, science and technology and agriculture, would provide support to the government in terms of innovation in the state, an official spokesman said here.

Its members include experts, representatives of companies and vice-chancellors of state universities.

Apart from mapping opportunities for innovation, it would identify and reward talent in innovation, encourage young talent in local colleges, universities, medium and small scale industries and research and development institutes in the state, the spokesman said.

It would also facilitate linkage or networks among all the educational and knowledge institutions at all levels for promotion of innovation in the state, he said.
