Bollywood was abuzz with reports on Tuesday that superstar Aamir Khan had secretly married his girlfriend Kiran Rao, the assistant director of Lagaan.
But the media here quoted the actor's secretary Ashish, co-star Amin Haji and close friend Raj Zutshi as saying late Tuesday that the reports were untrue.
The reports said Aamir, 38, secretly married Kiran, a Bangalore girl whom he first met on the sets of Lagaan, in London. She was also second assistant director for Monsoon Wedding and first assistant director for Saathiya.
Kiran is currently assisting director Ashutosh Gowarikar on the film Swades, which is yet to be released.
The marriage, reportedly held a month ago, was kept a secret and Aamir and Kiran were now on an extended holiday.
Aamir, who was earlier paired with Bollywood actresses like Preity Zinta and Amisha Patel, divorced his wife Reena Dutta two years ago.
