Meet Prashant Sahay, who is in the fray for the fourth time here since 1990. Sahay, who is very fond of horse-riding, is no match for Sinha, but then victory has never been a priority. He just wants to take on Sinha, whom he considers a "borrowed player" of the BJP.

A lawyer by profession, Sahay also runs a beer bar. "I am associated with two bars," he quips. "The district bar association and a beer bar. I spend the earnings from the beer bar to run my political show," he says.

He polled 511 votes in 1990, 5,600 in 1995 and 640 votes in 1999, but he is undeterred.Winning is not a priority for him. “I am a misfit in the electoral battle. I don't have the caste base nor the money power to effectively take on a colossus like Sinha. Its better to pull down a colossus than to crawl around him," he chuckles.

"I have no regrets. I am a successful lawyer. I have ensured justice for the downtrodden and punitive action against corrupt officers like the then DIG K.B. Singh and (members of) the coal mafia like Nirmal Jain."
