But, the court restrained the MPPSC from declaring the results. The Commission has called 1526 candidates for the interview.

A division bench of Chief Justice AK Patnaik and Justice SC Sinho issued directives during hearing of a bunch of petitions filed by the aspirants challenging scaling method and seeking direction for probe into alleged irregularities in valuation of answer sheets of the main examination.

The MPPSC in its reply said there was no provision for revaluation of the answer sheets. The process of scaling ensures equality and fairness in awarding marks to aspirants and is free from any arbitrariness, discrimination or violative of the Constitution of India, it argued.

The scaling system is part of internal functioning of the Commission and is treated, as ‘secret’ and it would not be in public interest to disclose the same to the examiners, the reply said.

The Commission said roll number slips affixed on the answer sheets are not interchanged as claimed by the petitioners and coding of each answer sheet is done appropriately.
