A Division Bench of Justice Vijender Jain and Justice S N Aggarwal also asked CBI to furnish within six weeks a report on the status of investigation against 102 housing societies which were "illegally" revived after 2000.

The Bench passed the direction after the court appointed amicus-curiae K C Mittal raised doubts over the manner in which the CBI gave clean chit several housing societies. He charged the probe agency with clearing these societies despite "sufficient incriminating material" against them in the illegal revival.
