The MP Central Bank Employees Association Bhopal, MP Central Bank Officers Association Bhopal, the MP Central Bank Officers Union Bhopal, the Central Bank Employees Union Bhopal Zone and the MP Central Bank Officers Congress Bhopal has given a call for agitation from January 6 to 25.

The court directed the employees and officers associations that they would not obstruct the people from entering the Central Bank of India’s zonal office, regional offices and its branches for business transactions.

The court issued the order during preliminary hearing of a PIL filed by bank’s Bhopal zonal office chief manager HR Dutta seeking direction to check the employees and officers unions from holding strike inside and within the bank premises in public interest. A division bench comprising Chief Justice AK Patnaik and Justice RS Jha directed the State Home Department Secretary to issue instructions to the concerned district collectors and superintendents of police to ensure that court’s orders were enforced.

The PIL claimed that despite advance information given to the police authorities, no protection was given to the employees, and officers. As a result they were ill treated by the agitators, and the bank incurred huge financial losses.
