The order was passed by a division bench of Justice UK Dhaon and Justice SS Chauhan on a writ petition filed by one Maheshwari Pandey challenging LDA’s move. According to informed sources, Pandey has raised objections to the manner in which the registration process for the scheme was advertised by the LDA.

“Registration for the scheme was opened just for five days (from January 12 to January 17). But since January 12, 14 and 15 were holidays, people were left with only two days time to apply under the scheme,” said an official. This the petitioner has alleged was done deliberately to limit the number of applicants.

The HC in its order has directed that the registries of plots should not be executed if allotments have already been done by the LDA.

Fourteen officials were suspended by the State Government in this connection.

On March 3, Singh, according to informed sources, would have to appear before the Supreme Court in the alleged Vipul Khand land scam in which plots were directly allotted to some VVIPs.
