THE ALLAHABAD High Court has directed the Health Department of Uttar Pradesh to publish a general notice to all unauthorised medical practitioners (quacks) to stop their illegal practice, failing which they will be prosecuted and their shops will be sealed to prevent further unauthorised and illegal activities.
This order was passed by Justice Sunil Ambwani while hearing a contempt petition filed by one Rajesh Kumar Srivastava.
Srivastava filed this petition alleging that few years back the Supreme Court had directed the State government to check unauthorised medical practitioners (quacks) in the State. He alleged in this contempt petition that in spite of the directive, quacks were flourishing in the State. The court also ordered to send a copy of this order to principal secretary, Medical and Health, for circulating it to all CMOs in UP.
HC closed on Oct 31
THE HIGH Court and its offices at Allahabad including its Bench at Lucknow will remain closed on Tuesday, October 31 on account of municipal election, informed Swatantra Singh, Registrar General, in a press release on Friday. He said the holidays in subordinate courts would be observed on the polling day on October 28, and October 31 in concerned districts respectively.
