The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday dismissed a PIL filed against Wipro chief Azim Premji accusing him of encroaching government land.

A Division bench, comprising Chief Justice Jagadish S Khehar and Justice Manjula Chellur, dismissed the PIL filed by a city-based advocate on the ground that there was no material to substantiate the allegations made by the petitioner.

Santhosh in his PIL had alleged that Premji had encroached 21 guntas (point 52 acres) in Kempura Tank bund area and that his name was also mentioned in the AT Ramaswamy Committee report.
The Committee set up by the state legislature had looked into the encroachment of government land in and around Bangalore and submitted its report in 2007.
