HC grants bail to Kanchi seer

The Madras HC granted anticipatory bail to Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi who apprehended arrest in in the Sankararaman murder case.

The Madras High Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi who apprehended arrest following a complaint filed by Chitra, wife of Ravi Subramaniam, accused-turned-approver in the Sankararaman murder case.

In her complaint, she had alleged that two lawyers having connections with the mutt had threatened her husband and tried to induce him to change his confessional statement implicating the seer in the case.
