HC issues notices on Bharti's passport plea

The HC seeks replies from the MEA and Home ministry to the application moved by Bharti for releasing her passport.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued notices to the Home Ministry and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), seeking replies to the application moved by Bharti Yadav, the elusive witness in Nitish Katara murder case, asking for release of her impounded passport.

Justice AK Sikri, while directing the Ministries to file the replies immediately, posted the matter for further hearing to October 17.

A key witness in Nitish Katara murder, Bharti Yadav had earlier given an undertaking in the trial court that she would depose before the court on November 25.
