A division bench of Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Rekha Sharma directed a fresh joint inspection by officials of MCD, DDA and Police, along with advocate Usha Kumar.

The bench asked them to file a fresh report before the court at its next hearing.

The court conveyed its displeasure to MCD and DDA after counsel for the Heritage and Culture Forum Usha Kumar charged that the status report was highly misleading and false since she had personally visited the site on Tuesday

She also found that the encroachments, claimed to have been removed by MCD, continue to exist.

She submitted that many of the encroachments continued to thrive due to active connivance of officials and local Imam.

At this stage, the bench told the MCD counsel, "you can't take things so lightly. You cannot file a false statement in the court. We will take action against the Deputy Commissioner if he is misleading us".
