The court directed to list this case on September 27 for the next hearing.

Raghunath Dwivedi, a candidate for the post of AUSU president, had challenged the election of Ajit Kumar Yadav on the ground that Ajit was not a bonafide student of Allahabad University (AU) when he contested the election. Dwivedi had secured second place in the aforesaid election.

Today’s order was passed by Justice Rakesh Tiwari.

In his petition, Dwivedi had challenged the order of Allahabad University Tribunal dated April 30, by which the Tribunal had found the election of Ajit Kumar Yadav valid, saying that the issue of validity of Yadav’s admission would be decided by the AU administration.

According to Dwivedi, Ajit had got his migration certificate from Allahabad University before contesting the election of president. Issuance of migration certificate showed that he was no longer a student of AU.

The subject of the seminar is Levy of Central Sales Tax Act on Inter State Deemed Sales Transactions including works contract.

Agarwal will also address the three-days national conference of the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP) western zone, from September 10 to 12, on Service Tax, Central Sales Tax and other direct taxes at Goa, in which tax practitioners, chartered accountants and senior advocates from all parts of the country will participate. Justice Rajesh Bindal of Punjab High Court will inaugurate the conference on September 9 in Goa.
