A Division Bench comprising Justice Pradeep Kant and Justice Rajeev Sharma passed the order.

The petitioner’s lawyers said, the LDA had allotted a plot to Chaturvedi on June 4, 2002 at Kanpur Road Scheme and for which Chaturvedi had also deposited Rs 1.78 lakh. The counsel further submitted that Chaturvedi had constructed a house in the same year and also started living there. The problem started when Chaturvedi filed PILs in the land/food and green belt scams in the High Court and in the Supreme Court. One of the PILs also involved Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

When Chaturvedi refused to withdraw the petition, a plot allotment cancellation order, dated March 29, was issued to him on March 30. The court fixed the next hearing on April 24.

Speaking at the Adhivakta Parishad’s seminar, he also said the nominations for the post of Information Commissioner should be transparent. Justice DP Singh, Justice Abdul Mateen and senior advocate SK Kalia were present.
