Chhattisgarh High Court on Friday vacated the stay given by the Central Administrative Tribunal to Bastar and Jashpur collectors against their transfer by the Election Commission for violating its direction and model code of conduct.

A division bench comprising Justice Fakhruddin and Justice LC Bhadu, while vacating the stay granted to both the collectors also asked the CAT, Jabalpur to hear the case on merit basis on November 21 after hearing the arguments of the advocate for the Commission Kanak Tiwari.
The Commission went to the High Court on November 7 after both Jashpur Collector BS Anant and Bastar Collector lN Suryawanshi obtained stay from the CAT against the order of their transfer by the EC on October 29.
