HCBA election on March 2

THE GENERAL BODY meeting of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association (HCBA) on Tuesday unanimously resolved to hold its election on March 2. The meeting also appointed Haider Hussain, an advocate of Allahabad High Court Bar Association, as the chief returning officer. Besides, PK Singh, RK Ojha and MC Chaturvedi were appointed as deputy returning officers.

The meeting also appointed Haider Hussain, an advocate of Allahabad High Court Bar Association, as the chief returning officer. Besides, PK Singh, RK Ojha and MC Chaturvedi were appointed as deputy returning officers.

The meeting requested the returning officers to hold the election of HCBA on March 2.

This general body meeting took place under the presidentship of CL Pandey, present president of High Court Bar Association, and was conducted by HCBA secretary IK Chaturvedi.

The meeting also resolved that all those members of HCBA who had deposited their dues up to October by February 10, will be entitled to vote in this election. It was made clear that the security money for various posts of HCBA would be the same as was in December 2003 when the last election took place.

Sadhna to contest
Former General secretary of Allahabad High Court Bar Association Sadhna Upadhaya on Tuesday announced that she would contest the forthcoming election of Allahabad High Court Bar Association for the post of president. She urged all right-minded lawyers to exercise their votes in favour of the candidate who could represent their cause effectively at different fora.
