Head constable suspended for raping minor

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a police head constable, who was later suspended, a senior police officer said.

Head constable Shyampal, who is related to the victim, went to her house, which is behind Sahibabad police station, on Friday and raped her, SSP L Ravikumar told reporters.

Shyampal has been suspended and a case has been registered at Sahibabad police station last night, he said.

A medical examination at MMC hospital here confirmed that the girl had been raped.

SSP L Ravikumar has also issued an arrest warrant against accused Shyampal.
