Producer Kumar Taurani is pulling out all stops for his upcoming Vivek Oberoi-starrer Prince. Ignoring the competition from the IPL, he is releasing the film globally on April 9 with more than 1,000 prints. The film is also getting a simultaneous release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

"According to my report, the Indian Premier League (IPL) does not have the same craze this year as it enjoyed in the past two seasons,” said Taurani. “Our film is coming in the middle of the series. We’ve calculated that the IPL craze is at its peak in the first two weeks and during finals. There is a lull in between. That’s when we’re releasing Prince.”

The film hasn’t had an easy journey so far. Taurani reveals that he had to struggle hard to get its title. “The name Prince was with Eagle Films. But my lead character’s name was Prince, so I repeatedly pleaded with them to give me the rights. ‘It’s Show Time’ was my tagline and we released our first promo as Prince — It’s Show Time. Ultimately we did convince them and got the rights to the name,” said Kumar.
