Job description:
Marine engineering is all about designing, constructing, installing and operating systems and equipment which propel and control marine vehicles and of the systems which make a vehicle or structure habitable for crew, passengers and cargo.

Marine engineers are responsible for the management and control systems that are essential for safe voyages and operations. Being a very technical and highly responsible job, a marine engineer also has to take decisions for selecting the ship’s machinery which may include anything from diesel engines, steam turbines, gas turbines or nuclear reactors in such a way so as to derive maximum efficiency while minimising costs.

Remuneration:
Being one of the most payable of all engineering fields one can expect to earn fat salaries. As a marine engineer you can easily fetch an initial salary of about Rs 50,000-60,000 keeping in mind your qualifications and talent.

This career gives handsome opportunities to fly abroad and earn somewhere around US $70,000 and more. With time and experience the earning soars up too. So, get set and sail towards a career in marine engineering.
