Snacking 1.5-2.0 ounces of pistachio nuts a day, in addition to a standardised diet, significantly lowers cholesterol in Asian Indians, suggests a latest Indian study by Dr Anoop Misra and Dr Seema Gulati of Fortis Hospital and Diabetes Foundation, New Delhi. “Evidence from our scientific study shows that a daily dose of pistachio helps reducing abdominal obesity, subcutaneous fat and cardiovascular risk factors,” says Misra.
