THERE ARE few villages where almost the entire village has not paid electricity bills, consequently, MP Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC), Bhopal, held a hearing today regarding disconnection of electricity supply to entire village where dues are outstanding.
This issue was discussed today at MPERC, in which representatives of Eastern Region Electricity Distribution, Western Region and Central Region Electricity Distribution Company were present.
After this hearing, MPERC has fixed January 10 as date for hearing on rules of payment of compensation in case of accidents during execution of electrical works. Employees who lose their lives during execution of electrical works are eligible for compensation.
Company’s secretary Rajiv Bais will represent Western Region Electricity Distribution Company at the MPERC and representatives of other companies and MP State Electricity Board will be present in the hearing.
Western Region Electricity Distribution Company is the only Company where training course to train the line staff about use of safety appliances was conducted.
The line staff was also taught safety rules, to be adopted during execution of electrical works. Following this training, there was decline in number of accidents. About 350 line staff members were trained in this refresher course.
