Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is slamming reports that his estranged wife Heather Mills married him only for his money.

According to Contactmusic, McCartney very recently confirmed that he split from his wife of four years.

He described Mills as a generous person and said the allegations were unfair.

He wrote a message on his website saying, "It's been suggested that she married me for the money and there is not an ounce of truth in this. She is a very generous person who spends most of her time trying to help others in greater need than herself."
