The condition of martyred Lance Nayak Hemraj's widow Dharamvati, 28, and mother Meena Devi, 55, who are on hunger strike for the last six days, worsened on Monday in village Shernagar with the doctors advising immediate hospitalisation.
Demanding return of Hemraj's severed head, the two female members of aggrieved family had resorted to hunger strike on January 9.
The army had brought headless body of Hemraj who was assassinated by Pakistani army on the line of actual control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir last week.
The SDM said they were not eating because of grief; the family strongly refuted the Mathura district administration's contention and the claim about the withdrawal of hunger strike.
Hemraj's cousin Narendra said that the hunger strike would continue till the acceptance of the demand. He said it could, however, be withdrawn if there was assurance from the army chief that Hemraj's head would be brought from Pakistan.
"We will not accept any assurance from any politician", Narendra said, adding the visit of politicians was now a formality. They should have come on the day of cremation, he commented.

{{/usCountry}}"Both have not eaten anything for the last six days", the doctors said, adding that they were put on intravenous drip but it was taken out following sharp fluctuation in blood pressure.
A team of doctors has been closely monitoring the condition and has even suggested hospitalization. Talking to HT at the village Dr Sandip Kumar and Dr Harshwardhan said that the condition of both - mother and widow - was fast deteriorating and it immediately required hospitalisation. However both lying on the floor of the dilapidated house had refused to move out.
Reposing trust in Indian Army, Narendra said it should intervene to bring back Hemraj's head. The hunger strike started with villagers launching dharna on January 9. While villagers under the pressure of Pradhan Dharamvir called off stir next day, the widow and mother have so far refused to budge.
Sympathising with the family the villagers were also quite critical of the role of Pradhan who announced withdrawal of hunger strike. Meanwhile the Mathura DM Samir Verma on Monday met the family members.
