Apparently, It's Mehra's son Puneet's own way to remember his father, who passed away recently.

The film is expected to go on the floors by the end of this year.

A close friend of the Mehra family said, “It came as a surprise when Puneet decided to remake the Amitabh Bachchan-Vinod Khanna starrer Hera Pheri. He believes that the remake of the film is a viable proposition.”
