If you thought bags are synonymous with girls, then take a second look. Men folk are all ‘bagged up’ and how! Nowadays, men are using bags to snuggle various bits and pieces that they generally stuff their pockets with.

Mansi Zaveri, marketing and communications manager, Fcuk, says, “Men choose bags that are not only stylish but that are extremely functional too.” Fashion designer Shaahid Amir concurs, “Bags are evolving to be an integral part of men’s accessories.” HT City lists all the bags that are keeping men loaded:

Messenger bag: Worn across the shoulder, the messenger bag is made from waterproof material. The bag can be both formal and informal depending on its fabric.

Newsboy bag: It’s similar to the messenger bag but because the bag is made of canvas, it’s not appropriate for formal occasions.

Sports bag: They have a very cool look and can be used to carry your gym wear.

Work bag: Smart and sleek, they serve the purpose of being formal and casual.

Fashion designer Falguni Peacock says, “Bags have already become a huge trend amongst youngsters. When shopping for bags, men make it a point that they see for fine details such as buckle, extra zippers and the quality of leather used.” She adds, “With men carrying more and more gadgets, and also becoming more metrosexual, men will soon become inseparable from their bags.” College goer Swati Sharma feels that with bags becoming a part of men’s accessory, she wouldn’t have to think much about what to gift her boyfriend next time.
