The trend is that there have never been many Valentine?s Day or love theme parties in the city as they are this time. In fact, there hardly used to be any V-Day theme parties.

Not only is there a run-up to the V-Day, the trend within itself reflects another factor. The trend is that there have never been many Valentine’s Day or love theme parties in the city as they are this time. In fact, there hardly used to be any V-Day theme parties.

And within this V-Day theme parties, is the fact that married people, in a way have won the V-Day celebration race compared to those who have just been struck by the cupid’s arrow.

There has been a flurry of Valentine’s Day theme parties in the city by various social clubs—like Round Table, Jaycees or Lucknow Management Association. Couples—from newly married to those with over a decade or even two of companionships—gathered on the theme of love. The gatherings were full of roses, perfumes, gifts, drinks, food and lots of ‘I love yous’.

And there was fun in expressing or recollecting love. Like at the Round Tablers meet, the couples were expected to narrate to all the story of how they had proposed. The women were dressed in red or pink and men in black. So at one place, people listened to stories of ‘chemistry of love’ and the ‘initial days of love’. “There was fun and love in the air,” said Surabh Bhatnagar. And the music was just the love songs.

These parties are happening since Thursday.

While most of the love theme parties were in the evening, LMA began for its couples on Sunday morning. And they called their Pre-Valentine Blast as ‘Big Boys Day out’. So now, it seems, Valentine Day is becoming a weeklong affair—love affair!
