The suspects, between 18-24 years of age, were released “on technical grounds”, according to Noida police’s Deputy Superintendent of Police R N Mishra. The suspects, who have already been chargesheeted by the police, were also booked under the Gangster Act, Mishra said.

“Though the accused may have got bail on some technical ground, the investigation has been made properly. Scientific aid was taken during the course of the investigations,” he said, adding that the scientific evidences will culminate in the “conviction of the culprits”.

Dasna Jail’s superintendent V K Singh said: “The 11 rape accused were released from the jail between August 20 to August 26.” Sources said the prosecution could not “oppose the bail applications properly”.

“Pushpinder alias Tunia was released from jail on August 20, Sudhir Yadav, Shrikant Yadav and Gautam Yadav on August 21, while on August 24 Sanjay Yadav, Anil Yadav and Little Yadav were released,” Singh said.
