Finally, Rohan Sippy can heave a sigh of relief. The High Court of Goa has dismissed a PIL filed in the court by a local against Sippy’s upcoming, Dum Maaro Dum (DMD).
The judge found no ground to pass a stay order against the film, based on the facts and evidence placed on record in support of the petition. Therefore, the Court found it fit to permit the release of the film as scheduled on April 22.
“I’m happy that the honorable court has passed an order in our favour because it was a major issue for us,” says Sippy.
“Let me clarify, we haven’t shown Goa in a bad light in the film. We have shown it to the Censor Board and they gave us an ‘A’ certificate for a reason. This is the basic procedure that any Hindi film follows. But I am relieved that DMD is ready to release.”
The Court dismissed the plea after considering a detailed affidavit, filed on behalf of the producers and distributors of DMD, in reply to the PIL.

“Although the film has made news for various reasons, I urge everyone to watch it and decide for themselves. I hope there won’t be any other problem now,” says Sippy.
