SAYING THAT Hindi has a special place among Indian languages, Governor Dr Balram Jakhar said that Hindi should try to take along other Indian languages for their simultaneous development. He also said that Hindi has all the attributes to unite the nation and this quality should be promoted.
Speaking at the annual Hindi Sevi Samman function to felicitate Hindi litterateurs, social workers and teachers, the Governor said that Hindi has the capability of accommodation and it should take up the responsibility to allow development of all languages.
The felicitation function was organised by the MP Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti. The Governor also said that, on the part of government, scholarships should be provided to students to learn other Indian languages and similarly the students in states with other languages should be given scholarships to learn Hindi.
He further said that there should be no objection to learning of any language including English as they only serve to enhance knowledge. He congratulated all those felicitated on the occasion. Culture minister Laxmikant Sharma presided over the function and lauded the role of MP Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti. He announced donation of Rs 50000 to the Virendra Tiwari Memorial Award Fund.
