Hizb terrorist killed in J&K; locals allege foul play

Local people protested and claimed that the deceased was not a terrorist and had died in police custody.

A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was shot dead in an encounter with the security forces in Pulwama district on Saturday.

However, locals protested the killing and indulged in stone pelting while claiming that the deceased was not a terrorist and had died in police custody.

Bilal Ahmad Dar alias Bilal Sombura was shot during a gunbattle at Sombura village in the district in the wee hours, a defence spokesman said.

An AK rifle and a magazine were recovered from the site of the encounter, he added.
